Red Button Ginger Description
This species, Costus woodsonii, grows to 3 to 4 feet tall.
Red button ginger has leaves that are mid-green in colour.
From late winter to early spring, plants produce bright red bracts from which individual orange-yellow, edible flowers emerge.
Red Button Ginger Maintenance
Biannual pruning will encourage bushier growth, while not trimming the plant will encourage leggier growth.
Like most other plants, it’s advised that any dead or dying leaves and stems be removed from the plant to keep it as healthy and clean as possible.
