Endeavour Bottlebrush Description
A vigorous native shrub growing to around 3m x 2m.
It produces thick cylindrical crimson flower spikes in late spring into summer and sometimes in autumn too.
Like all of the bottlebrushes they are easy to grow and have little pest or disease problems.
Endeavour Bottlebrush Maintenance
Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter.
Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
Prune after flowering and apply a slow release native fertilser to promote dense growth habit and prolific flowering during the next flowering season.
Endeavour Bottlebrush Alternative Names
Melaleuca citrina, the common red bottlebrush, crimson bottlebrush, or lemon bottlebrush, is a plant in the myrtle family Myrtaceae, and is endemic to eastern Australia. Some Australian state herbaria continue to use the name Callistemon citrinus.
