Although not a true ginger, it is a cold tolerant plant that will thrive in protected shade/part shade areas of your garden.

Once established it is fairly drought tolerant.
Blue Ginger requires little fertilizer, too much as cause the edges of the leaves to brown.
Lightly fertilize with liquid fertiliser during the growing season.
Prune back at the end of the flowering season.
